The web sites Management Team is made up of myself, a wholetime Crew Manager with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue along with the members below. My role is to ensure that the site is run in a professional manner and that the content meets the demands of our visitors. I have responsibility for the sites financing and ensuring that all the web pages comply with today’s standards, ensuring the site stays the most visited Unofficial Fire and Rescue related site on the internet.

Steve Dudeney, a Divisional Officer with London Fire Brigade has been with the site since it started. Steve provides a wonderful insight into the Fire Service based on his operational experiences and managerial roles. Steve’s involvement in the site covers many areas which makes him one of the most respected members of the Community Forums.

Keith Miller, serving Watch Commander in Northern Ireland Fire Brigade has been instrumental in the sites growth since it started. Keith’s dedication to controlling the news inputted on the site as well as running the polling booth. The polling booth alone helps gather some of the most interesting results within the Fire and Rescue Service.

Chris Wilson, a serving Crew Manager within London Fire Brigade, plays an integral part of the site due to his extensive knowledge of current issues and policies within the UK Fire Service. Chris’s input is vital in ensuring that any discussions within the site are kept on track, and that no one deviates away from the issues being discussed.

Bob, a retired Sub Officer from London Fire Brigade joined the site in 2004. Bob has a passion for fire service history and devotes most of his time to providing the content of our history sections which he has total control over. Bob spends a great deal of time researching the subjects and incidents of years gone by, ensuring the sites history section is ever changing.

Mark is a Leading Firefighter with Essex County Fire and Rescue Service and has been with the site since 2004. Working within the Retained Duty System, Mark is able to provide us with the knowledge and information surrounding the retained service. Although Mark is knowledgeable in all aspects of the service, he is instrumental in ensuring all the retained queries are responded to.


 

James Holder

Site Moderator / Fitness Guru

James, a Watch Manager in West Midlands Fire and Rescue is the latest addition to the team here at UK Fire Service Resources. James’s main role on the site is the fitness section, of which he has total control over the content of. James is also available to offer advice, where needed on the fitness section of the forum. James is also the author of “Firefighter Fit”, the best selling fitness book, also available through the site.

Bob currently enjoys retirement after serving 25 years in the job, initially starting with Glasgow Fire Service in 1972 and then Strathclyde Fire Brigade following regional changes. Since retiring in 1996 he has involved himself in researching the history of the old Glasgow Fire Brigade and the wider historical aspects of fire brigade in general. Now an Associate Research Fellow based in Glasgow Museum’s Centre for Collections Research, Bob focuses on research work relating to the collection’s fire brigade related objects such as an early Newsham type manual fire engine up to, and including a 1959 Leyland Firemaster.
