The County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for affording fire protection to a population of just over half a million people, within its borders of Cleveland and North Yorkshire to the south, Cumbria to the west and Tyne and Wear and Northumberland to the north.
The combined counties of Hereford and Worcester have twenty-seven fire stations and the fire and rescue service protects the community from a wide range of dangers, from fires to road traffic incidents, flooding and potential terrorist attacks.
